4 directional target cutting is an effective training method for developing instant judging of distance, timing, posture and foot work. The most important point is to be able to have a constant cutting angle regardless of direction and distance.

Attacking 4 targets in quick succession, and at the correct angle, is a great exercise that improves sword handling and develops a keen eye for where a blade has to strike.
