Buying a katana on the Internet can at times lead to much disappointment and frustration, especially when a katana doesn't fit the advertised descriptions and thus becomes just a shiny piece of polished metal.
Reviewing a katana for its functionality and use for tameshigiri as well as for its safety aspects, quality and value is more or less a personal matter, especially when it comes to blade design, blade and handle length, weight, balance, fittings and performance. When reviewing a katana we look at the basic requirements and overall quality of the piece, its advertised function as well as safety and the katana's aesthetical value.
