Tameshigiri is an integral part of Nakamura Ryu Battodo and unique to the Japanese sword arts. All  video clips are taken during our Sei Do Kan dojo's tameshigiri training sessions and demonstrate some of the many varieties of cutting techniques with a katana*

*The Sei Do Kan dojo does not use katana of the "modern" hira-zukuri type (flat blade, without shinogi ) as they are truly un-Japanese and have no combat value what so ever. These blades are not made for serious swordsmanship and as such are mainly used for entertainment purposes only.

Individual tameshigiri video clips, some with commentary:

Warning
Swords do cut & kill.
None of the cutting sequences on this web-site should be copied or used as teaching- or training aids without having had proper training and/or instructions in Nakamura Ryu Battodo and/or Tameshigiri first.
