Takegiri; bamboo-cutting practice in 2007 with Mat Rous and Hans sensei.

Besides perfecting ones cutting-angle on soft targets one must, at the same time, also perfect ones cutting-power; green bamboo is best as it will not damage a blade and a green bamboo stalk of some 45-50 mm diameter is similar to the density to bone;  making it  ideal target-material.
