Seitei To-ho kata are the foundation kata in Nakamura Ryu Batto-do.
Kata # 1 deals with an enemy from the front. The swordsman advances three steps towards the target and when in cutting range draws and cuts horizontally in one swift motion (Batto). This cut is immediately followed by an other step with a left kesa-giri and right kiriage. Completing the kata the swordsman does chiburi and noto # 1. All kata are performed with ki-ei (ei-ya) and must show full sword control by stopping the blade (tome) before moving into the next cut.
