These confrontations are dangerous and require split second timing. The swordsman, realizing an attack is to take place from the rear, he quickly changes directions, turns, deflects and cuts down the enemy from behind. Using the momentum of the first cut he again turns, and stepping through, defeats enemy # 2 followed by chudan no gamae, chiburi & noto.
